Current Mood: Japanese
Ahhh yes…spring is in the air once again.
A few weeks after two snow storms dumped a ski resort all over my backyard I was actually able to go winter skinny dippin aka outside without a jacket today. Enough about weather, the last week was awesome for me and a lot of momentum is beginning to build up with my music career. A lot of industry guys and gals interested in my sounds and I just got a nice paycheck on some production gigs I’m doing. So…no more tuna sandwiches this week. I’m not at the 5 star restaurant level but I think I’ll take a night out to enjoy some sushi and other stuff commonly not associated with my refrigerator. Lets go Japanese. Currently listening to Lookbook’s song “Yesterday’s Company.” Take a listen to it below. It’s on repeat. Anyway, let me get back to watching the Academy Awards.
Stuff I Recommend: Super Topski Shades
In my opinion Chanel glasses and D&G shades are overrated. Sure, they have great styles but everybody has them…everybody. Even knock off brands copy the designs of these high-end companies so its not a rare thing to see the person sitting across from you in Cosi with the same glasses. Marc Jacobs and Gucci rounds out the quartet in third and fourth most copied styles in my opinion. Thats why I look elsewhere. These Super Topski Shades are dope and they retail for around $200…not too bad. Obviously Mod inspired these shades “mount highly sensible Zeiss mirrored lenses for all snow terrains and strong sunlight, with leather protections to keep the wind & sun out of your eyes.” In other words, they’ll look great with that Northface.
Current Mood: Venti :)

I never wonder about the secret of life or the reason we exist anymore. All that ever did was make me want to bash my head in with something unusually sharp and metal because the eventual conclusion you reach is, “who the hell knows?” Nobody. But ghosts. So, to kill my time, there’s nothing greater than the feeling of writing a song while sipping a Venti Caramel Frappaccino in the afternoon. All that’s missing now are birds chirping and a pretty face walking by. Its a cold day in March unfortunately. My current mood is “Venti” if thats at all possible. My inspiration is Ra Ra Riot- “Can You Tell”. Great song, take a listen below!
The Illustrations of Xiao Bai
Xiao Bai is a superb Chinese illustrator and one of my favorites who studied traditional Chinese art since a young age. Many of her characters sport tatoos, reason being Xiao Bai has a job as a tattoo artist. How lucky is that? I thought working at Google was cool but Xiao Bai draws pictures for a living with the added benefit of being able to discount 100% off any tatoo…at any time. The illustrations are cool too. What do you think about them? Check out a few more pictures here.
Who’s In My Playlist Today?
Tokyo Police Club is in my iPod and will be forever and ever. No, they are not Asian and they’re not from Tokyo or Japan at all if you’re wondering. They are a group of four friends from Newmarket, Ontario who picked up instruments and formed a band in their senior year of high school. I guess it’s like being the indie rock version of Wu Tang Clan. Where they got their name from I have no clue. Here is their song entitled “Your English Is Good.” Great song…download it here! Bulk Up Your Playlist
A great song by the Firekites called Autumn Story. The song really sets a wonderful mood when you listen to it. This song quiets me when I’m angry and it stays on rotation in my iPod because in my industry it’s very easy to get frustrated! LOL! Download it for free here (right click and save as)! The video is below. It’s a great chalk animated (yes, chalk animated) music video directed by Lucinda Schreiber and Yanni Kronenberg.
Interpreting Beauty
One day I was on Myspace looking for art as usual and stumbled upon the beautiful works of Michael Shapcott. What made this particular experience unusual was the fact that Mr. Shapcott actually r
ecorded the entire process of him painting many of his pieces including this one to the left! That’s right…free of charge you can witness a master at work right from the convenience of your desk at home. Wow. Not the least bit of insecurity shown in his game. Kudos sir.
