Success in a Bottle of Drippy Paint
Criag “KR” Costello, according to his Krink website is “a terrible art student, a semi-successful vandal, and an entrepreneur who learned everything the hard way.” As fate would have it Costello, now a world renowned artist, owns one of the largest brands in the world of arts and design. Costello’s art is less “illustrative” and more “abstract and expressionistic” as he states in his 2009 interview with Arkitip. (below) Aside from his beautiful art peices Costello’s Krink products are shipping daily from a headquarters in Brooklyn to everywhere from Californ
ia to Moscow to Bangkok. The product line has grown to offer a number of different markers and inks that are unique to the market in their style, history and quality. Krink has grown to tag team with renowned companies like Nike, Levi’s and Kidrobot. The trademark “drippy paint” has found its way into art and design becoming a standard for street-inspired artists on a global level.

When I was younger I used to watch WWE (when it was WWF) and despite the fact I knew it wasn’t real I watched it faithfully every Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday. After years of watching I began to notice how characters recreated their image and teams grew and disbanded. Eventually, background characters would become the big deal and the “bad guys” became “good guys” and vice versa…who wrote this stuff???? After a while it became predictable and I moved on to better things.

Jay Criss ‘s Top 5 Online Promotions and Marketing Dos and Don’ts for the Independent Artist
You’ve read the extra long title now you can breathe. To the left is a picture someone caught of me typing away on my iPod Touch. They were probably wondering, ”What is Jay Criss doing?” I update all of my online promotions and marketing on that little gadget. At social events you might see me tapping this thing secluded in a corner for a couple minutes with a face so focused you would think I was programming algebraic functions. However, there’s really nothing mathematic to my equation except the end result which subsequently makes a sound resembling “chi-ching” when put into the proper place.
